Mustard is nowhere mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. In any case, you'll have to prove that it was the Romans who invented it, since mustard seed has been cultivated and ground into a condiment (in the Indus and Asia) for over three thousand years. Traders may have brought the seeds to the Mediterranean region before the Roman period. The fact that the Romans experimented with and perfected the mustard-condiment does not address whether other peoples had already done so.
