increase in housing area due to the increasing population.the forest security cannot control the poaching of animals in Indian forests effectively.moreover the pollution leads to the distruction of ecosystems.many people in India live in villages and many still in forests as tribes.they carry on cultivation by clearing the forest land for their living.the distruction of ecosystems for setting up hydroelectric plants.the old cities of India such as Mumbai which were formerly production centers of industrial goods, have now become trading centers.due to this, the production mills have shifted to rural areas.rural areas have much more green cover.the mills ,by shifting to rural areas, degrade the forests in those areas.the government pretends to increase the green cover by setting up tree plantations.but this,in one way is degradation of a very important resource i.e.soil.if there are different kinds of trees on a part of land, the soil there keeps on getting new nutrients with simultaneous use age of nutrients.plantations actually use up soil nutrients and though in a long run, render it useless, making the land barren and thus preventing the forests to grow on the same.
