The PPK is readily concealable for a spy or plainclothes agent, which cannot be said of the M-l9ll war horse though it is.l It is difficult to cock a .45 ACP anyhow and almost impossible from a concealed position,. It is not recommended to carry the arm cocked and locked ( with the rear safety catch on) as a measurable jolt could accidentally fire the pistol. The M-l9ll is too big for concealed carry.

In all James Bond films featuring the Walther PPK, the 7.65mm (.32 ACP) version is used. However, as of 2012's Skyfall, it appears to have changed to the 9mm Short (.380 ACP) caliber.
