Both sides had lots of casualties. When Russia left World War I because of a revolution, both sides had the same soldiers as many Western soldiers were sent to help out the Russian white party. Both sides used guns. Germany was fighting a two front war, so they were on both sides. Both sides expected a quick finish to the war.
the similarities between them , as we can see, German and Japs make the same wrong move by starting a war with something that even they can predict. as for Germany, they start the war with Soviet,and lead them to demise. same like Japs who bombing pearl harbour, because they predict that US can't start the war in 2 different places. Thankfully , what is japs predict is totally wrong. US even can mobilized their army to Pacific.
