Olden days marriages were often arranged by families, emphasizing social, economic, or political alliances, whereas modern marriages are typically based on love and personal choice. Additionally, traditional marriages often had rigid gender roles and expectations, while contemporary marriages tend to promote equality and partnership. Furthermore, societal norms around divorce and cohabitation have evolved, with modern views generally being more accepting of diverse relationship structures.
