Decline of cotton spinning at home.
Mostly half a century later, with the mechanisation of the British cotton industry. Handspinning suffered worst: cheaper imported yarn initially allowed handloom weavers to reduce their costs while continuing to produce cloth better suited to local demand; they too would suffer as imported cloth became cheaper in the 19th century.
Indentured servitude began to decline in the late 18th century and officially ended in the early 19th century. The practice varied by region, but by the mid-19th century, it had largely faded away with the shift towards other forms of labor.
