The Physical characteristics of the Native American Indian would sole depend upon the tribe, clan and family lineage you were referring to. There is no single characteristic that translates from tribe to tribe. Though some physical characteristics include Almond shaped almost oriental looking eyes. Lazy eyes in children. Heavy "fat" eyelids where the eyelid appears to have an extra fold. A melanin (pigmentation) in the back of the eye on the retina peculiar to Native Americans. Teeth that have a ledge on the backside. Run your tongue across them, they feel almost like a shovel shape. Large front teeth with a slight or more than slight gap. Lack of the Carrabelli cusp on the maxillary first molars, which is missing in Native Americans. Large heavy earlobes. Crooked fingers particularly the little finger or pinky. An inverted breastbone. Often called a Chicken Breast. The bone actually makes an indentation in the chest.Little toes that lie under the next one. A second toe longer than the big toe. A wider space between the big toe and second one. An extra ridge of bone along the outside of the foot.

Navajo have a wide variety of physical features because the tribe traditionally was exogamous. This means it was taboo to marry anyone in any of the four clans of your grandparents.

There is a classic western Navajo look of men being tall with thin hips and wide shoulders and a thinner face. In the east people look more like Pueblo peoples in general, and they tend to look a little more Aztec. In general, you can easily tell a Hopi from a Navajo even though they have lived near each other for hundreds of years and intermarried some.

Most Native Americans have physical similarities to North east and Central Asian native people like the Tibetans, Evenki, Chukchi, Ket, Tungu, Nenets, Yakut and others since they migrated through that region before settling in North America. They have wide/high cheekbones, round palettes (this effects width of teeth, etc), and shiny dark brown or black hair and equally dark eyes.

Many Native Americans have what is called an epicanthic fold in their eyelids. This can make the bridge of the nose, the section between the eyes, look broader and give the eyes themselves an almond shape.

Many tribes have Blood Quantum Laws that give a requirement of Native American blood that a person must have to be legitimately described as being a part of that tribe. For Navajo Nation, a person must be 1/4 Navajo, so there is a chance that someone can be "Navajo," but look like a different ethnicity depending on what the other 3/4 of their genes are.
