The five North American "Great Lakes" have the same names in Canada and the US : (by size) Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Lake Erie, and Lake Ontario. A sixth, much-smaller lake, called Lake St. Clair, lies on the waterway between Lakes Michigan and Erie.

Four of the five great lakes border the Canadian province of Ontario: (from west to east) Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Lake Michigan, the fifth great lake, is entirely within the United States and does not border on Canada.

What we know as Lakes Michigan and Huron are, hydrologically, actually just one body of water. Therefore, there are really only four Great Lakes, all of which are shared by Canada and the US.
