New Zealand has "Post Codes" of four numeric characters, eg. 6011 = Wellington.

To find a Post Code for a specific New Zealand city, town or locality, go to the New Zealand Post site at the Related Link below and insert the name of the postal destination.

It is equivalent to the USA zip code.

NZ has 4 digit post codes, but a correctly addressed letter will be delivered OK without them. For example:

John Doe, 12 Main Street, Havelock North, New Zealand.

. . . will be sufficient for delivery.
