The age is 4-9 that you must be and you also must be 4 foot 9 inchs to get out of a booster.

Not following rules is illegal but police can only pull you over if you had a primary defense such as speeding. every person under limits and not in a booster will get fined $25 $75 each

Every state has different laws on this matter. On average, a child must be at least 8 years old before they can legally sit in the front seat of a vehicle. Under 8 years old, they must be in the backseat in the proper car seat or booster for their age and weight.
