The construction of the Bab El Mandab straits created the Red Straits, referred to in the Bible as the "Red Sea". However, this water way, did not connect Arabia to Africa, but rather the construction of the Red Straits, seperated Africa from Arabia in the 19th. century.
I think the Mediterranean Sea. It is actually the Red Sea. Although, in a sense, both the Mediterranenan and Red Seas separate Africa from Asia, the Mediterranean Sea is more commonly associated with separating Africa from Europe.
