I came across your question because I told someone that this is true and am looking for proof. What I know I remember vividly from when I was a kid and the show was popular is that Love Theme is what was played when they would do a bird's eye / helicopter view of the cruise ship out at sea either between scenes or when getting ready to break for a commercial. I am completely positive about this.
They thought I meant I thought it was the theme song for the show which is not the, you know...."love, exciting and new...." but the shots of the ship out at sea from above, I'm positive.
