No, Mcgee's book 'Deep Six' is not real, however there is a real book called 'Deep Six'. It is a novel written by Veteran Author Clive Cussler.
Mcgee's book is a prop used on the show and it is just made up and it's really clever the whole "wrap" and how they made it look like an acttual book. The cover is presumably done by someone same as the back cover and it has a reilly press logo on the bottom with two fake codes.
The back cover has some fake reviews of 'Deep Six', from Times Editor, Stolling Rone Magazine, American Film Reviews, Fanity Vair Magazine, CBS Entertainment Reviews, and
Chad W. Murray, Film Actors Guild (F.A.G).
(Note that Chad W. Murray is Sean Murray's (AKA Mcgee) brother).

Yes, there is an NCIS, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. But no, the real NCIS is nothing at all like the TV version.

I don't think it's a legitimate book. It was made up for the show NCIS by the character Tim McGee (you might've known that). There were some 'copies' given out to fans of the show in 2007, but I don't know if they were real. Anyway, it probably isn't for sale in any normal bookstore.
