Rose Dawson/Dewitt Beucater was actually on the titanic. But she is not alive anymore.

She stays alive but her boyfriend Jack gets frozen and dies. While her engagement with the other rich man looks at the news paper and sees her name written down as Rose Dawson and remembers that Jacks second name was Dawson and he thought they got married so he got a gun and shot himself through the mouth but the truth is that Jack Dawson actually gets frozen and dies. Watch the movie its great but also very sad i watched it and i love it. The above is correct, but rose is a fictional character in the movie!!
