The South African economy is however very unique to other countries in the world, having a tier two economy one showing clear traits of a developed nation with high human development and first-world infrastructure and other areas showing traits of a lower-middle class or low income area where unemployment along with a lack of high education remains high . Huge inequality is also a major concern dragging down South Africa's ranking on the world human development index.
