Well, the U.S. shares a border with Canada, so, all of the U.S. is near Canada, relatively speaking.

But, Ohio is closer to Canada than the majority of the 50 states are. The northwest side of Ohio borders the southeast side of Michigan, and Michigan is directly across the Great Lakes from Canada.

Actually, the peninsula of Ontario -- which is bordered by Detroit on the west side and Buffalo, New York and Niagara falls on the east side -- is directly across Lake Erie from the north side of Ohio.

So, yes, Ohio is very close to Canada.

And, technically speaking, Ohio shares a border with Canada, although it isn't a land border. Lake Erie is divided, east to west, by a water border, the northern half of Lake Erie being in Canada and the southern half of Lake Erie being in Ohio.
