As a concerned parent, I was shocked to find out that Grade R teachers NO LONGER need any qualifications to teach our Pre school learners. The Dept of Education is demanding that all Departmental Primary schools appoint a Grade R Practitioner (with ONLY Matric certificate). This is also in the pipeline for Pre Gr. R learners, so what our qualified Pre school teachers will be doing with their education, nobody knows??
