It can't be for certain, but I suppose it wasn't used because the company may have voted against it. Quite often are animes and manga's different from each other. Some more than others. This might be one of the minor changes the company did so Koga would seem more wolf-like. After all, more people watch anime then read manga.

Why did inuyasha's father want inuyasha to have the tetsiga?

i think it is because inuyashas dad wanted him to become as strong as sesshomaru(thats my opinina) InuYasha's father had a devoting love for Human's. When InuYasha's mother was pregnant, he chose a tomb in which his body would be when he died, and he chose to hide it inside InuYasha. The reason his dad gave InuYasha the tomb and the tettsuiga is because he wanted somebody who would fit it better. His father designed a different sword for his eldest son, Sesshomaru, so InuYasha got the tettsuiga. InuYasha became more like his father than people noticed. Like his dad, he also loved Human's, which was the reason he could use the tettsuiga, and when InuYasha learned to be nice to them, and love them, he would be allowed to withdraw it. Since that never really happened, a human themselves (Kagome) was allowed to draw out the sword because of InuYasha's father's love for humans. It's a long story, but the reason Inu was allowed the tettsuiga was because his dad loved his mother, and it was his love for humans (since Inu IS half-human) that made him able to wield the tettsuiga.

Sesshomaru has three swords throughout the series. The first, Tenseiga, can bring back souls of the dead, as well as later use the Meidō Zangetsuha, which is later absorbed by Tetsusaiga. Tokijin is a sword forged from Goshinki's fangs, which was forged by Kaijinbo at his request. I t was broken in a fight with Moryomaru. Bakusaiga was attached to Sesshomaru's regenerated left arm, after he no longer lusted for Tetsusaiga. It has great power, destroying thousands of demons in one swing. It has allowed him to surpass his father in power.

Who is inuyasha in inuyasha?

InuYasha is a half demon (honyou) that has be sealed to the sacred tree by the priestess Kikyo for 50 years until Kagome, who supposedly is Kikyo's incarnation, broke the seal and set InuYasha free. InuYasha's father is the great dog demon, a great demon who was one of the most powerful demons in the world. InuYasha's mother is a human named Izaioi. InuYasha also has an older brother named Seshomaru, who is not a half demon, but a full demon who has tremendous power. Since InuYasha's seal has been broken he searches for the sacred jewel shards with his friends Kagome, Shippo, Miroku, Sango, and Kilala (or Kirara), InuYasha and his friends also fight the horrible half demon Naraku. Some of the traits of InuYasha's are that he has a very high temper, he is a hot head, loves potato chips and ramen, and he loves both Kikyo and Kagome. One more thing, InuYasha has a sword that is one of his father's fangs named Tetsusaiga. Tetsusaiga can use the moves The Wind Scar, Baclashwave, Adiment Barrage, and Meido Zangetsuha. InuYasha can also use moves without Tetsusaiga called The Iron Reaver Soul Stealer, Blades of Blood, and just regularly punching people. InuYasha's voice actor is Richard Ian Cox. I hope this information could have been of some help to you all! :)
