In Red Dead Redemption can John Marston survive after the finale?

No he cant survive which is really annoying. I know many people who think that they should bring out downloadable content for an alternate ending.
Actually its theoretically possible, there's about 14 soldiers at the end, and the mauser pistol holds 15 shots. but unfortuantly after you kill about 3 soldiers they all start shooting and it wont let you use dead eye. Hopefully they'll come out with an alternate ending.

∙ 13y agoNo at the end, the US Army attack the ranch, and the uncle gets killed. Then, later in the mission, John opens the door of the barn to find several soldiers and some lawmen. You then enter dead eye, take some people out and then you open fire and kill him IT SUCKS!!!
