As an adult she was about 2 years old. Judging by her tail tuft as a cub she was at least 7 months old, and judging by the cub Kovu's head tuft as in the starting mane growth he had to be about 9 months old. As an adult his mane was already fully formed but quite small, thus making him perhaps 3 years aold. So, some 2 years had to pass between their cubhood scene and the adult scenes. Resulting in the about a year old cub Kiara reaching the age of 2. That's also when lionesses start learning to hunt. Which Kiara did try for the first time in the film in her first adult scene. Although, technically she wasn't an adult yer for she wasn't full grown. The film makers refer to them as teenagers, Lion King versions of Romeo and Juliet.
