I have a 1998 Sable and have not yet found the dash kit / conversion kit that works with the electronic climate control. This would apply to all 1996-1999 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable models with electronic climate control. Some people have installed a radio into the space below where the ashtray is. Very ambitious project.Search around the Taurus Car Club site and you'll find some photos of how they did it.
Mercury has no climate, since it has no atmosphere.
The wind which controls China's climate is an Asiatic monsoon!!
No. Mercury has no atmosphere to speak of, and therefore no weather or climate.
Yes there are installation dash and wiring kits available that have the climate controls built in. The Scosche company makes some as well as the Metra company.
Go herehttp://www.crutchfield.com/p_142F134030/Ford-Mercury-Factory-Stereo-Integration-Package.html?tp=3486Cheers!I have not ever seen one for a Taurus/Sable with electronic climate controls. There are some who have engineered a way to incorporate a stereo into the space under the ashtray. I don't have the link handy, but search around the TaurusCarClub.com site.
You may have a real hard time finding the dashkit for a car with the electronic climate controls - I have not heard of anyone finding one for the 1996-1999 generation of Taurus/Sable, including my own efforts.See "Related Questions" below for another discussion on dashkits
I'm not sure about the *switch* itself, but the oval dash panel that holds the controls come off just like removing a Ford radio. See "Related Questions" below for more NOTE: for the electronic climate controls, the dash panel is all there is - the electronic circuits and controls are fully contained on that dash panel.
The sun.
There was a redesigned dashboard that included a new instrument cluster, with electronic climate controls mounted higher and a knee bolster below. Also there were Dual airbags made standard, and finally, the 5.7L LT1 was installed in all roadmasters, bringing the output of power a total of 260hp, 80hp higher than the previous years.
If your vehicle has the electronic climate controls, I think the interior temp sensor is behind the small grill area to the right of the radio. That feeds the electronic control the cabin temp so it can then adjust the heater blend door, fan speeds and duct positioning. I found my interior temp sensor was not mounted to the radio/climate controls dash panel - pulled the panel loose and snapped it back into place. Hope this is what the question is referencing - otherwise... See "Related Questions" below for more about Taurus/Sable heater controls & more
