Of course these may include reprises so these numbers may not reflect totally original songs.

The average of these 10 musicals comes out at 23.2 songs per musical.

Yet probably the greatest Musical Production writers in history, Rogers and Hammerstein, generally used about 12 or 13 songs a show.

Obviously, though, the works included overtures, reprises and variations throughout.
