The height of something can be written in many ways.

There are tons of units: Feet, Inches, Centimeters, Milimeters, etc.

If you're asking about a person's height then the proper way to write it would be: 5'4. 5 being the feet 4 being the inches.

You didn't say what the height was originally. For example, if you are trying to convert 5 feet, 3 inches into inches, you simply multiply and add. You know that every foot has 12 inches. That means 5 feet times 12 inches (= 60) then add the remaining 3 inches to that total. If you are trying to convert metric height into inches, you'd multiply different numbers.
