What I would do is boil the retainer in hot water to get the germs off. Then wash it in hot, soapy water. Lt it dry or towel dry it and it should be fine!!
NO! Boiling in hot water can damage the retainer (or palatal expander or whatever you're trying to clean). I had this happen with my daugher's retainer and I cleaned it with antibacterial soap & water, then let it soak in Listerine for an hour, before cleaning it with Polident (following directions for denture soaking). I think that between those three the germs, bacteria, etc. should have been vanquished.

Slaskrensare is Swedish for "sleet scraper" which is a plastic utensil. It was designed to remove waste from a sing into the trash. Also used to clean left over food scraps from the table after dining.
If you don't clean it and if you're using an acrylic retainer, yes. To prevent infection clean it as you normally would and use a glass retainer.

Clear retainers work well. However, you may not have the choice of using one. Your orthodontic doctor will determine the best retainer to use on your teeth. If you get a clear retainer be certain to keep it clean as you are instructed to do and keep it in a case with your name and phone number on it in case you lose your retainer.
That might be a tricky thing to do but heres a few ways if you can't get a new one. First the challenging part might be getting it back. First take some hot water and pour dish soap into a bowl along with the water. Soak your retainer for a few minutes. Then rinse it in cold water. After that to get ALL the germs out. Then take an old toothbrush and SCRUB it clean. Put more soap on the tooth brush. Then let your retainer air dry. Then it should be back to normal :) If you have small crack sin your retainer take a toothpick, a paperclip, or safety pin and push the dirt ou tout it with one of theese pointy tools.
To clean mold off a retainer, soak it in a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar for about 15-20 minutes. Scrub the retainer gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to dry completely before using it again. Make sure to clean your retainer regularly to prevent mold from growing.
The benefits of getting a metal trash can are that it is easier to clean and able to recycle when it is done. A plastic bin is harder to clean and is not recyclable
Take your trash can out of your room for a week. If you go to the nearest trash can outside of your room to throw away stuff, you're a clean person. If you just make a pile of trash on your desk or in the corner of your room, you are a bit lazy, clean enough, and organized. If you just throw your trash wherever, your very dirty. THE END

we should do so to keep thor oue environment clean enough for future generation.
All retainers should be cleaned properly. You can clean your retainer with a toothbrush, however, we advise using specialized retainer cleaner (or denture cleaner). When brushing and flossing, fixed retainers should be cleaned as well. Additionally, we advise against washing your retainer in hot water to expose it to extreme heat as this could cause the retainer to stretch into a different form.
