Oxygen (A/F) Sensor Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank 1 Sensor 1)symptomsOther than the MIL light illuminating you may not notice any performance issues.causeA short in the O2 sensor heater circuit or the sensor itselfA faulty O2 sensor heaterWiring or connectors are broken or frayed to the sensor or relayBad PCM or ECMThe fixCorrect wiring short or loose connector found in inspection.and/orReplace the bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor
Ok. The O2 Sensor heater circuit has a fault, Usually a new sensor will fix it, yours did not. The next step is to do some diagnostics. There are a couple good youtube vids on how to check the sensor, just ype in the code #. If the sensor tests good then you have a wiring, computer, ground or power supply issue. To trace that down takes a wiring diagram and a couple hours. on a thirteen year old car I am going to bet broken wire. Good Luck
The 1996 Acura oxygen sensor can be found on the top of the engine. The oxygen sensor will be on the left-hand side of the air cleaner.
Probably an O2 sensor has worn out. You can take your vehicle to an AUTOZONE store and have the codes read for free. This will pinpoint the check engine light problem.
yes you are
i have a 98 Monte Carlo myself and the o2 sensor in it is located behind the catalytic converter in the exhaust....... it is about in the middle of the car...
You have more than one O2 sensor in that vehicle and they are all threaded into the exhaust at various points.
Where is the O2 sensor on 1997 Chevy Monte Carlo 3.1 litter with 8th digit vin M
in the exhaust pipe between the engine and the cat
There are two O2 sensors on the 96 Monte z'er. The upstream sensor in located in the "y" pipe before of the cat. The downstream sensor is located after the cat but before the expansion chamber.
The upstream oxygen sensor is the one before the catalytic converter. It will require a special socket to remove and replace it. jd
There is one before and one after the catalytic converter.
its on the passenger side engine manifold towards the collertor. its a one wire unheated connection. the wire my break out of the sensor so be careful.
you may have 2. one will be before the catalytic converter on your exhaust pipe. if there are 2 then one will be located after your catalyltic converter.
There is a possibility that your O2 sensor is fouled. The O2 sensor is what reads the exhaust air to fuel ratio. Have it checked..........I would have looked at a bad O2 sensor before i replaced a catalytic converter. There are some cars with O2 sensors before and after the cats, and others just have O2 sensors in front of the cats. I am not sure what you have.
To change an O2 sensor you need to disconnect the wiring harness from the sensor. Use an O2 sensor socket and ratchet set to remove the old sensor and replace with the new one.
"mil eliminator" from summit racing but you can make your own 2!
