How did the parents die in the movie Frozen?

So the conclusion is that the Baudelaire parents had killed Olaf's parents so for revenge Olaf killed the Baudelaire parents which left the Baudelaire to be orphans. Does that answer your question?

The theory that they were headed to Rapunzel's is just a fan theory not real. It turns out they were heading to Queen Iduna's (Elsa and Anna's mum) homeland. If you watch Frozen 2, this will explain it in more detail.
