It is far harder to find an accurate statistic for the number of people killed annually by donkeys than it is for those killed by plane crashes for obvious reasons, so a conclusive answer cannot be given, but it definitely seems as though that little "factoid" is very much untrue. A decent amount of people are injured by donkeys or killed as a result of accidents related to donkeys (mostly car crashes involving a donkey) but the number of people actually killed by the donkey itself is extremely low.

A lot of things, but I'm guessing you were looking at fun facts and saw that donkeys kill more people than plane crashes. However, that seems to be an urban legend. Donkeys are mammals, and mammals, like all vertebrates, have bilateral symmetry. This means they have symmetry across one plane (known as the sagittal plane, and directly down the centre of their body), which means one side of their body approximately mirrors the other side.

yes they do. Whilst recently walking in the Pyrenees in a ski area(out of season) we came across an aggressive donkey. It quietly watched us approach down an ex-piste for over half a mile. when we got within 50 feet of it (taking a wide course) it faced us squarely and started to bray from clenched teeth and pursed lips. We stopped, it continued then advanced towards us getting louder all the time. For whatever reason it saw its tail and started chasing its own tail around and around getting faster and louder. we took the opportunity to back off but hadn't gone far before it noticed and started advancing on us again. The only weapons to hand were rocks and I picked up one to threaten it. it stopped for half a second and advanced again showing teeth etc. I picked up a second rock and as it advanced I clashed the rocks together, that kept it sufficiently at bay to effect an escape. It followed us at a safe distance (for it!) but did not leave us until we were back in the ski-village, which naturally was empty. On the way we and it passed some local workmen dismantling ski lift equipment. it ignored them and followed us until we were off the pasture-land. I don't know many cars, planes or tanks that would do that, but I do know where there is a donkey that will. Would it have killed us? - I expect so given half the chance!
No, donkeys do not kill more people annually than plane crashes or shark attacks. Plane crashes and shark attacks are relatively rare occurrences compared to donkey-related incidents.
Approximately 32,137 people die annually from plane crashes.

No, sharks kill more.
People die in plane crashes because they could be drunk, tired or not paying any attention to the sky.
People have plane crashes because of many reasons. One reason, like the Twin Towers was a terrorist attack and people wanted to make a point. Other times plane crashes can be completely accidental. There could be a problem with the plane, or two or more planes colliding in the sky causing them to both crash and kill many people. Plane crashes are extremely sad and can kill many people and ruin lives. Let us take a moment to think for the people who have lost their lives in plane crashes and any other accident. by Lizzie
Usually by their teeth.
Where the plane crashes is called a crash site.
