Deliverance (1972) is based on the novel by the same title. It is a work of fiction and did not take place in Tennessee. The movie is set in Georgia mostly on the Chattooga River which runs along the Georgia-South Carolina border. Some scenes were shot in North Carolina, Pennsylvania as well as Georgia and South Carolina. No scenes were shot in Tennessee.
