AT&T frequently runs a sweep of all of its accounts and if it finds an account with an iPhone and the iPhone data plan is not on the account they are adding it, no questions asked.

Firstly, AT&T is spelt with an '&' symbol. Secondly, if your purchased your iPhone from the online Apple Store, the handset will already be unlocked and you can use any service with the handset. However if you purchased the handset on a network service plan, you will need need to contact your service provider.

Yes you can but you will not get the benefit of the 3G network speed, you will only get EDGE. Also this will require an iPhone data plan change and if you had the unlimited plan on the iPhone 3Gs you will lose it and you will not be able to get it back.

Yes, and as of recently AT&T has attached a mandatory $30 data package fee, just like the iphone. But it is unlimited data, so take advantage of that. soooo if you plan on going with the nokia surge, expect to see at $30 Unlimited Data charge on your bill.
