African-American is a broad, politically-correct term that is used to describe people of color. Because of this, Whoopi Goldberg is referred to as being African-American, even though she has vehemently denied being African.

the reason for the motto is because in Jamaica there are Chinese, Japanese, and many more different people but they all consider themselves Jamaican!
Multiracial descendent. My mother is of Native American and Caucasian descent of my Grandfather's side of the family and African-American on my Grandmother's side of the family. As for my father, his mother was of Native American descent and his father was of African, Afro-Jamaican, and Dominican descent. So basically, if I am mixed with African, Indian, Afro-Jamaican, Dominican, and Caucasian descent, that means I am of an multiethnic background.
the child is considered American and will need to have a passport to travel outside the U.S.A
No, they are Afro-Jamaican or Afro-Caribbean as they are not Americans but Jamaicans.

No. There are white and black Jamaicans.
Jamaica is an island in the Caribbean not in Africa (or anywhere near Africa). So Jamaicans aren't African. They are dark skinned (black) but not of African heritage so they can't be an African American. ________________________________________________________________ ok let me start of by saying that i am jamaican. and u are absolutely wrong, MOST jamaican have some sort of african ancestry. thats where the color in our skin comes from. the thing is, we are not americans so it would be silly to call us african americans. african american refers to AMERICANS with african decent and only them. however we are JAMAICANS with african decent so it would make more sense to call us african jamaicans but that isnt a term so we just call ourselves black (to tell u the truth, even the indians i know in jamaica would consider themselves black over white because in our heads jamaica is a black country) (allthough it really isnt). the actual term is afro-jamaican. but as i said, we just call ourselves black people because of the african decent.
Why do non-jamaican people celebrate their beliefs?
There are many more wealthy Caucasian people than wealthy African American people.
it only has African American people in it.
