Another answer from our community:The book of Proverbs is written by the great King Solomon.
The wisest king to rule Israel, Solomon wrote most of the proverbs.

== == There is a suggestion that only chapters 25-29 were written by Solomon that the men of Hezekiah, king of Judah, copied out. Chapters 30 and 31 contain the "burden" of Agur and Lemuel, with headings at the beginning of their respective chapters. All other chapters were contributions by various authors of the scriptures.

== == Proverbs 1v1 specifically tells us the following: 'The proverbs of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel.'

Proverbs 25 v1 states the following: 'These are also the proverbs of Solomon which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.' The word 'also' indicates that the previous section were proverbs of Solomon.

The Book of Proverbs was written in layers by successive authors, all of them anonymous. Some of the material collected and used in Proverbs comes from earlier Egyptian and other sources.
