'x111' should be wrttien as 'XIII' Note the use of capital letters.

XIII = 13 .

On Classic Analogue Clocks the Roman Numerals are ; -

I = 1

II = 2

III = 3

IIII = 4 ( More correctly 4 = IV)

V = 5

VI = 6

VII = 7

VIII = 8

IX = 9

X = 10

XI = 11

XII = 12

NB It follows that '13' = XIII'.
