Mark 5:25-34 a woman with a 'flow of blood' for 12 years, reached out to Jesus in her attempts to be healed. This took courage and initiative, because it actually broke one of the sanitary restrictions in the Mosaic Law, but because she had such strong faith in Jesus, he healed her.(Leviticus 15:19-28)

Mark 10:46-52 is the account of the blind beggar who desperately wanted to be healed. When he called out to Jesus, many people told him to be quiet, but he took the initiative and kept it up until Jesus heard him, and he WAS healed.
