Because humans had no means to communicate in prehistorical times..the lived often far apart, in some tribal areas of the world so, one language developed without influence of another.
If you look at languages now..you see many influences of one another
Latin, Indo-European, Germanic..etc

According to the Old Testament of the Holy Bible, humanity originally lived in the one place and all spoke the one language. They decided to build a tower high enough to reach the sky. God disapproved on the grounds that if they were successful in this project, then they could do anything they wanted. So he scattered the people and mixed up their languages so they would no longer understand each other. For reference, see Genesis Chapter 11, verses 1-9.

Isolation causes languages to evolve differently from each other. Isolation can be physical, political, or cultural.
Most languages share common factors and can be traced back to language families. For example, modern languages like English, Dutch and German are part of the Germanic language family, and share a common ancestor called Proto-Germanic.
Languages naturally evolve and the theory goes that at some point in time, as groups of people went their separate ways, their languages evolved and changed over time in different ways. Eventually, the languages of the various communities of people evolved differently enough that they became different languages.
As i stumbled into the room i realised there were so many people speaking in different languages around me.
Different languages evolved in different regions due to separate groups of people developing their own communication systems over time. Factors such as geographic isolation, cultural diversity, and historical migrations contributed to the diversity of languages around the world. Additionally, languages also influence and shape each other through interactions like trade, conquest, and colonization.
There are approximately 6,800 languages in the world today. The name of God is different in every language simply because different languages use different words to describe the world. It has nothing to do with the idea that there is one God. Earth has only 1 moon, but there are thousands of different words for "moon".
When civil/world wars had emerged, people used several different languages in order to communicate with one another without the enemies being able to understand what was being said. Over time, many different languages had spread and thus, we have many different languages.
English is different from other languages because it has been influenced by many different languages over time. It has borrowed words and grammar rules from languages like Latin, French, and German, making it a unique and diverse language.
Because there are many different people and cultures in the world. Just like different countries can have different languages or traditions, they can have other different things, including calendars. Many are based on religion and so they measure from different points in time that are significant in that religion.
Arabic, Hindu, Chinese Tigreanian, European (Britain, German, French, Portugese...) , Japanese, Korean, Russia, Vietnamese.... There are so many written languages in the world.
Because there are so many words and meanings spoken by humans, not to mention many different languages in the world.
They would have had many languages as they came from different countries and different tribes, so it would be impossible to list all the languages that they spoke.
