Get caught with drugs in the military and you face court martial, a few years in military prison and after all that, a dishonorable discharge on your employment record.
Class A drugs can result in 7 years for possession and up to lifetime in prison if caught distributing. More than likely you will not receive the full sentence unless you are caught doing so more than once or if you are wanted for distributing.
If the drugs are controlled substances and you are using them illegally, then you are subject to fine and arrest. You may also ultimately lose your job or be suspended from school. If you are receiving government assistance or live in government housing, those benefits may cease. Friends and family may disown you if they become aware of your drug use.
Here's a sentence: I can't believe that a handsome, young boy like you could get caught up in drugs and alcohol.

is it a felony to smuggle drugs into prison into louisian
It will depend on what you are caught with, how much you were caught with and what you were doing with it. It would not be looked on as badly if you had it just for your own use compared to if you were selling it to others. People can face heavy prison sentences, and generally the judiciary are getting tougher.
