Homeostasis basically translates to 'keeping the body stable'

the body needs to keep a very stable internal environment:

~our enzymes work at a very specific temperature, so we do everything we can to keep the body at a stable temperature (98.6 F)

~we keep blood sugar at a stable level by releasing insulin when we have a lot of sugar in the blood and glucagon when it is too low

~the kidneys the blood at certain acidity level

~we retain water from urine when the body is dehydrated, and increase urination when the body has too much wate
