Dengue fever is caused by one of four viruses known as dengue viruses. Dengue viruses 1 - 4 are members of the Flavivirus genus and Flaviviridae family. The scientific name for the virus is "dengue virus 1" or "dengue virus 2" or "dengue virus 3" or "dengue virus 4". The medical term for the disease caused by these viruses is known as "dengue fever". In some persons, an initial case of dengue fever can develop into a potentially fatal disease known as "dengue hemorrhagic fever/dengue shock syndrome." There are specific signs and symptoms required to diagnose these.

Yellow fever is a hemorrhagic fever that is caused by one of several viruses (most commonly arbovirus) which are transmitted by the Aedes aegypti (mosquito). The disease is actually called "yellow fever", but there is less severe form of the disease called "dengue", which can be followed by a more severe infection called "dengue hemorrhagic fever".

Actually, yellow fever is caused by yellow fever virus. Yellow fever virus is related to the four viruses that cause dengue fever, but they are entirely separate viruses. You cannot develop dengue fever from yellow fever virus and vice versa, although these infections share some of the same symptoms. All of these are examples of arboviruses, there is no virus known as "arbovirus".
