A French family? Surely no different to any other... Going to work, paying taxes? there are no set roles in American families, sometimes the dad stays home sometimes the mom...sometimes both parents work and sometimes there are only one parent in the family, etc. so there are no "set" roles of a french family just like there are not "set" roles in an American family.
