Winston Churchill was the most powerful person in Britain because of the role he had, He was the Prime Minister of England, he was high in military forces and also he was the only person in England who notices Hitler rise as the Nazis invaded Norway, Poland etc which was a point, he graduated from military schools, he had experience of war which is why he is the powerful weapon of England. He had the knowledge, the power, the quotes, the persuasion for the USA to participate which made the Allies win the WW2 and defeat Hitler
Some attribute it to his rallying speeches and charismatic displays of strength during World War 2, providing an essential figurehead to the troops fighting on the front line. Others attribute it to his experience as a soldier, and consequent vital strategic contributions to the Allied wartime efforts. Personally, I think the biggest factor was his invention of the "Onesie" or "Romper Suit" (which is no joke - Google it) - which as soon as the Axis saw the unbridled comfort and soft sleepy-time goodness possible with such a powerful invention, led to their immediate and universal surrender.
Churchill had a unique and sincere way of expressing powerful emotions and getting people's spirits up in adversity. He was possibly the best leader Britain could have had in wartime. To me personally, Churchill will always be epitomised by the British Bulldog, - fearless, tenacious, ruthless, a terrible enemy, - but a friend you'd want at your back in a fight.
