Roger Williams grew increasingly critical of both the King as well as the Puritans in the colonies. He did not believe their church had separated itself completely from the Church of England and challenged the Kingâ??s authority to encroach upon and give away native American lands. This didnâ??t go well with the Puritan Fathers and he was exiled to and discovered what became modern day Rhode Island.
