Because the world or more precicely the Earth, was created for a purpose. What might you ask is that purpose?

Isaiah 45:18 -- 18 For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited: "I am Jehovah, and there is no one else.

So there you go. For us to one day live for ever on this earth, it had to be created this wonderful. Annddd also don't forget it is to show how Great God is. Ps. 19:1 The heavens are declaring the glory of God;

And of the work of his hands the expanse is telling.

Just another reason why the righteous will live on the earth forever.
