The Caste System has so badly infested the country that inspite of best efforts of the government or the Reformist movements, India has not been able to come out of it.
It is a cheaper and more productive way to create a political win and social network for India.
Manu Rishi in fact, had only defined them as classes based on the occupations or professions and not castes as they are known now.
THE NECESSITY OF THE CASTE SYSTEM:1. Hinduism doesn't have a code of conduct. The caste system makes Hinduism flexible. It give gives Hindus freedom, better quality of life, easy adaptability and yet eternal discipline.
2. The castes enable Hindus to interact with all sections of the society without losing their identity.
2. The castes are based on geography, Natural Resources and seasonal changes and the nature of human beings. It is not based on just human needs and thus on occupations. There are more than 2,000 castes and more than 20,000 sub castes.
This infinite subdivisions shouldn't be misinterpreted as disintegration of Hindu society but as fine tuning of needs, availabilities and capabilities.
3. Every caste is an equivalent of a religion. Thus, Hinduism is an umbrella of compatible religions. Because of this non homogeneous nature of Hinduism, it is not possible to damage the entire Hindu religion.
4. The caste system is like a social ladder with infinite rungs.

India never had one alphabet (not even today). It is a country of thousands of languages and dialects. There is no similarity between any Indian writing system and the Latin alphabet used by English speakers today.

Hinduism, but the caste system did not have it's origin in Hinduism, but was put in place in India, and still affects people in bad ways today.
yes in udgir it is their
The caste system is a social hierarchy that has been traditionally associated with Hinduism in India. Both Hinduism and the caste system have long histories that have shaped the social structure and cultural practices of India. However, it is important to note that not all aspects of Hinduism endorse or support the caste system, and many Hindus today are working to dismantle this system of discrimination.
The Caste system is basically how the consists of: Brahmins (priests), Kshatryias (rulers/warriors), Vaisyas (merchants/farmers), Shudras (servants/labourers), and Outcastes. In my opinion, the caste system affects the society by making the people more exposed to prejudice, stereotyping and other things. These differences in rankings often cause disputes within the society. However, how it affects the society depends on how you see it.
The Indian caste system was divided into five different classes (varnas): Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, Shudras and Dalits (the "Untouchables", who were excluded from the caste system all together) The Brahmins were the priestly class that focused primarily on reading the religious scriptures (Vedas). Today the caste system is illegal in India, but those born into the Brahmin caste are still venerated and given privileges.
The surname "Kolhatkar" is associated with the Marathi Brahmin caste in India. Brahmins are traditionally priests, scholars, and teachers in Hindu society, and they are considered to be at the top of the social hierarchy in the caste system. It is important to note that the caste system is a complex social structure that has historical roots and continues to influence social interactions in India today.
Yes Hindus are very much particular about their caste still today although due to globalization it has not been considered imp in some big cities of the country but still the majority of Hindus go with their caste and there is no marriage or relation is allowed outside the caste
Depending on the caste system, in which Indian society is still subtly influenced by today, Indians often consume up to 3 to 12 felines per day.
The social system in America is based on ideals of equality and individual opportunity, whereas the caste system in India is a hereditary, hierarchical social stratification that historically restricted social mobility based on birth. While both systems aim to organize society, the American system is more open and allows for more social mobility compared to the rigid structure of the Indian caste system.
social pyramid They have social clases. The lowest in the social class is an untochable In India they have what they call the cast system, its is a hierarchy of human worth and I believe its orgins have to do with their belief in reincarnation, if you do not get it right this time around then you are born into a lower order of cast. You have no right to try and raise yourself within the society for your place in society has been earned by you in a former life. It is an oppressive system one many Indian people have been trying to do away with. It is one example of how mythology/religion can have far reaching negative influences, it is irrational, but, reason is hard won in the face of well established religion/mythologies.
John Maliekal has written: 'Caste in India today' -- subject(s): Caste
Unfortunately, it still does exist in India, but most of it is concentrated in rural areas void of access even to electricity. In cities, people treat each other completely as equals but inter-caste marriage can still cause tensions between families. All in all, it is similar to racism: Racism still exists in rural places as Alabama, Mississippi in the US and inter-racial dating is still not as accepted today. And there are always exceptions, say cities like Chicago that are race-segregated. But all-in-all, America still got a Black president!
