There have been many, but if you are asking about American currency, there were actually two, Martha Washington, she was the only one to have a portrait on a bill. It was a $1 silver certificate in 1886. And the other, Pocahontas, but she was only depicted as part of a historical scene.

On American coins, there have been Sacagawea and Susan B. Anthony, too.
