The Head of State is HM The Queen. The political leader of Scotland is the First Minister (since 2007 Alex Salmond). Scotland is part of the UK, of which the political leader is the Prime Minister (since 2010 David Cameron).
However, in 2014, quickly after the loss of the Independence referendum, Salmond stood down as First Minister. Nicola Sturgeon, has filled the position of Fist Minister and is also the first female to ever hold this position.
Scotland has no Prime Minister, since it is part of Great Britain, which is part of the United Kingdom, whose PM is now Mr. Gordon Brown.

Some Scots say he is.
It is possible that he is both. He killed John Comyn in a churchyard of all places and Comyn was known as a patriotic scotsman. But he did win scotlands freedom back from the english. even though he fought for the english at multiple times throughout his life he eventually became one of the most remembered kings of scotlands as flower of scotland is about his brilliance at Bannockburn. ..
It's the CLANS of Scotland who have their own tartans, not the actual country.
Scotland's current leader is First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who is the head of the Scottish Government and the leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP).
