The Egyptians were the first to live in Egypt. Archeologists and historians by the way doubt very much if the Jewish people ever really did live in Egypt. It's a great Bible story of course, but the Egyptians all through their history were famous for never having another people living in their midst. That is, apart from the Hyskos people, and they had come as conquerers of Egypt.

Furthermore never has even a shred of hard evidence turned up or any mention in Egyptian writings about a viceroy called Moses, about the seven plagues or about a whole army being swallowed by the Red Sea.

From archeological evidence, the Jews were a semi-nomadic tribe living in the western part of Mesopotamia that gradually drifted further westward until it settled in the Palestine area.
