Britain's North American colonies all supported Britain in the American and Indian War. Please note that in 1755-63, the 13 colonies were not an established group of the kind implied in the question.
By far it was the French that helped us during the Revolutionary War. The primary reason being that they were currently at war with Britain at the time. The French had lost most of it's colonies (Canada) to Britain in 1763 during the French and Indian War. Also, known as the Seven's Years War in Europe.
The French and British Waited to start colonies because the Spanish had already settled.
