It was the last of the thirteen colonies to be colonized so during revolutionary it was not strong because there were very little people in the colonie etc. :) <_>

Cash crops were the main source of income of the southern colonies. So the people had plenty only during the harvest time. Life expectancy grew downwards due to outbreak of diseases and poor sanitation. Labor force was required in large numbers. There were frequent religious dissenters.

A. Extremely warm Summers;

B. Unstable soil areas, building close to a swamp was not a good idea;

C. A multitude of different kinds of insects and snakes; and
