Constraint, or slavery, or tyranny. Liberty is the freedom to act as you wish. The reverse would be subjugation of your thoughts and actions.
This phrase means that were there is no law, tyranny and oppression will result. It supports the similar concept of "rule of law," where written laws control people's behavior, not the whims of a strongman ruler. It means that the law is the safeguard of our lives, liberty, and property. It is our protector and shield. So again, "where law ends, tyranny begins" means that the law protects people from the dominion of others. Steve in Saint Louis
Spartacus believed in the principles of freedom and equality, fighting against the oppression of slavery in ancient Rome. He sought to liberate himself and his fellow slaves from bondage, advocating for their right to live with dignity and autonomy. Spartacus's rebellion was not only a struggle for personal freedom but also a broader challenge to the social and economic injustices of his time. His legacy remains a symbol of resistance against tyranny and the pursuit of human rights.

In the United States, "Independence Day" is celebrated on July 4, and commemorates independence from Great Britain, which was achieved in 1776. Other countries have their own celebrations commemorating their own independent or established status, celebrated on the day they see fit. The idea of Independence day was originally meant to celebrate the PEOPLE'S freedom from oppression and tyranny. It was not to be a celebration of a single nation's independence from another, but the celebration was for ALL people to celebrate the fact that ALL people are born with the right to be free from such oppression and tyranny. Every person on the planet has the innate right to be free from religious, political, financial, and any other form of oppression. Here in America, we rightfully celebrate the fact that we are a free nation. We do not celebrate because we fought off the British, but because we freed ourselves from a situation that was oppressive in nature.
