The Boston Tea Party was the beginning of The Intolerable Acts. It started with The Boston Port Act, which effectively closed Boston to trade. It was written that the port would remain closed until the tea was paid for. It was a blanket punishment, meaning it was directed at the entire city instead of just those that did the "crime." It was an attempt to make an example out of Boston. Instead, it just created further feelings of revolution.
The Boston Port Act was followed by The Massachusetts Government Act, The Administration of Justice Act, and The Quartering Act. These did things such as forcing private homes to house British soldiers, and other methods of taking back control. These acts are usually regarded as the final sparks that triggered the American Revolution.

they passed something that Colonists called the Intolerable Acts
1) they closed the port of boston
2) They strengthened the Quartering Act
3) They made it harder for the colonists to hold meetings
The colonists, it's kind of funny they tried to make it look like the Natives, but they gave them self's away by singing
"Rally Mohawks! Bring your axes,
and tell old King George we'll pay no taxes
on his foreign tea."
We'll they were going to get blamed anyway the Natives did not care for the taxes or the colonists they just wish they never came here in the first place, and the started it British why tax tea that my friend is dumb, well there were other tax too but that what lead to the Boston Tea Party.
More info Samuel Adams and John Hancock helped out with it, well the top guys.
The British punished the colonists by passing the Coercive Acts, or the "Intolerable Acts". These acts closed the Boston harbor, required that all British officials accused of killing colonists were to be tried in Britain (likely to be set free), and required colonists to house British troops and officials in their homes and businesses.
They blocked off the shipping roughts from boston harbor... Maybe. I just read about this in History class today, but i cant quite remember
The Tea Act was passed in 1773, before the Boston Tea Party. The Boston Tea Party was a protest against the tea act, as tea smugglers and merchants were afraid cheap tea would put them out of business. Since it was the reason for the Boston Tea Party, it could not be a punishment for Massachusetts.
the boston tea party..........
