An armistice was signed in 1953. North and South Korea remain divided to this day. The UN maintains an peace keeping force in South Korea, mainly filled by USA military personnel. South Korea is a prosperous democracy. North Korea is a Dictatorship run by a thug, whose only claim for being in control is that he is the son of the previous tyrant of North Korea. North Korean people starve, while the North Korea government spends valuable resources trying to get nuclear weapons. Every now and then, an incident will occur, such as the recent North Korean torpedoing of a South Korean ship, with a loss of many people aboard the South Korean ship.
distain by the american people and politics
Blah blah blah its was bad
Because an armistice was signed on July 27, 1953. Therefore there was no winner of the war.
Joseph Stalin supported the North Korean attack in South Korea. Without his support there would have been no Korean War, as we know it today. The Korean War was a US-Soviet War fought by proxy. When Stalin died in 1953, the Korean War ended (1953).
The US/Allies had stopped the communists at the 38th Parallel.
